Rank Advancement
Rank Advancement is a primary goal of Scouting. The ranks are Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and Eagle. The process teaches Scouts to develop and execute a plan to achieve a goal. Along the way, Scouts gain self-confidence as they learn and apply new skills. Each rank has an associated list of requirements, each with increasing challenges. Scouts are expected to track their own progress, while the Scoutmaster updates the individual's online BSA records as ranks, merit badges and awards are achieved.
